Question: Connecting the wireless xbox 360 controller with the charger?

Well I know that its not supposed to work as microsoft wants you to buy their wireless adapter. I would like to know if anyone has a crack to use the charger for the battery packs OR to connect the controller onto your Wi-Fi and access it.

Answer: The USB cord for the charger doesn't have the wires necessary to pass data. The wireless controller uses a proprietary wireless signal, so a bluetooth receiver won't work.
How would you even think it could connect via Wi-Fi? How many peripheral devices; i.e.: mice, keyboards, controllers; have you ever heard of using Wi-Fi?
The wireless controller does not have the electronics in it to turn it into a wired controller. The only way to get an Xbox 360 wireless controller to connect to a PC is to buy and install Microsoft's wireless receiver.

Question: I can't configure my Xbox 360 Controller on Halo Combat Evolved?

Ive installed the software for the xbox 360 controller and in the control panel it says the controller status is fine. Only problem is when i click settings on Halo Combat Evolved (pc), gamepads is unselectable. I only have the trial version of halo combat evolved so i think it may restrict what i can do with the game. But even so i just wanted to double check.

Answer: For one i don't think there is a trail verison of the halo combat evolved.

For two you can buy the real game for like $19.

For three if it is a real xbox controller that may be the problem. I think you have to buy the xbox controllers for the PC and not just use the xbox controllers on the PC the real xbox ones.
